National Education Policy (NEP) 2020: AI for All

Looking to empower your students with in-demand tech skills?

Though the year 2020 started with unprecedented times, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was the much-needed silver lining. The policy aims to realise the aspirations of a 21st century Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and to make India a vibrant knowledge hub through equity, inclusion, and excellence in education.

To ensure the quality of teacher education across all stages, NEP 2020 envisions teacher career progression via meritocracy, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs and 360-degree assessments.

With NEP 2020 turning one, our Prime Minister has launched several initiatives.

Below are some of the key initiatives launched:

Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)

Under the technology-based Academic Bank of Credit system, students will be given multiple entry and exit options. It will allow students to leave a degree or a course and get a corresponding certification and rejoin studies after a certain time and be able to start from where they had left.

An account of academic credit will be created for each student enrolled in UG courses across India. It will help in credit verification, credit accumulation, credit transfer, redemption and promotion of the students.

Indian Sign Language

Indian Sign Language will be introduced as a subject at the secondary level to facilitate communication with hearing-and-speech impaired people.

National Educational Technology Forum (NETF)

The NETF is an autonomous policy which will allow free exchange of ideas on the use of technology to enhance learning, assessment, planning, administration etc. for school and higher education.
